PCO's LinkShield Aizip V2.0 Cuts Transmission Data by 92.9%

BUSAN, South Korea — PCO Co., Ltd. has entered LinkShield Aizip V2.0, its AI-powered video optimization and secure-transmission platform, into competition for a CES 2027 Innovation Award, a step in the South Korean startup's broader push onto the global stage. According to PCO, LinkShield Aizip V2.0 has demonstrated up to a 92.9% reduction in video transmission data, and in separate testing, up to 92.9% in storage savings — allowing organizations to manage growing volumes of high-resolution video with less demand on existing network and storage infrastructure, without replacing cameras, network video recorders or video management software already in place.

The platform works by analyzing video at the edge, near the camera, to identify elements relevant to monitoring — such as people, vehicles, unusual activity and lighting conditions — then applying stronger data reduction to lower-priority sections of each frame while preserving detail where it matters. The optimized video is transmitted to a central monitoring system over an IPsec-encrypted connection, with access limited through an access-control list. In stability testing, the system maintained 10 simultaneous encrypted VPN tunnels at an encryption throughput of roughly 107 megabits per second.

PCO's product line includes three edge devices — Edge A1, Edge SL4 and Edge S4 — that connect to cameras in the field, and a Center 500 unit that can manage up to 250 edge devices from a single dashboard. The system supports the H.264 and H.265 video codecs used across most commercial and government surveillance networks.

PCO has also completed a technology-verification project with South Korea's Agency for Defense Development-affiliated Defense Agency for Technology and Quality, examining how its compression and encryption technology could be applied to thermal observation devices used by the South Korean military. The company holds a South Korean patent covering the edge-to-center optimization and secure-transmission architecture at the core of LinkShield Aizip, along with two related patents covering video-data compression and wireless-encryption reliability.
